Sport on TV: what we cover
We get a lot of requests to include additional sports in our TV guide. But we have to be quite ruthless with the TV listings as they take up a lot of space, which is especially annoying when reading the email on mobile.
Our policy is to include the major games which are likely to attract the biggest audience. We have surveyed our Gold members to identify the most popular sports. We also generally stick to games on the major UK channels (Terrestrial, Sky, BT, Amazon) or if they are free to watch online.
This generally means:
Football: All Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Football League play offs.
Cricket: England matches, all formats
Tennis: the four grand slams
Golf: the four majors
Rugby: European internationals, plus Premiership and Heineken cup
Olympics and Winter Olympics: daily start times
Boxing: major fights
Horse racing: the four big events per year
Plus any special one-offs and tournaments.
This list isn’t exhaustive and we try to include special occasions from the above sports (e.g. Women’s World Cup, the Old Firm Derby), plus major events from other sports (e.g. snooker, rugby league, darts).
If something is on terrestrial TV it’s more likely we’ll include it, and if there are fewer fixtures from the major sports listed above then we are more likely to feature something more exotic.
If you are looking for more exhaustive listings, we recommend Where’s The Match, which is what we use.
