Steven Gerrard's wild night out
From necking shots with Kenny Dalglish, to smashing a nightclub DJ's teeth out

Steven Gerrard runs a famously tight ship. Take his leaked list of first team fines at Aston Villa, for example.
But the former England midfielder wasn’t always such a saint himself.
Back in 2008, Gerrard landed himself a date at Liverpool Crown Court after punching the lights out of a nightclub DJ on a night out in Southport.
The midfielder was joined by his teammates, their families and even club legend Kenny Dalglish to toast a famous 5-1 win over Newcastle at seaside nightspot The Lounge Inn.

But when the WAGs headed home and King Kenny retired for his bedtime cocoa, the jovial atmosphere turned sour.
Gerrard approached the booth and requested his favourite song - a Phil Collins number.
But DJ Marcus McGee refused, telling the steaming Liverpool skipper he was “not putting any fucking music on here”.
A fuming Gerrard made his way around the decks, landing three brutal uppercuts on the DJ, knocking out one of his teeth.

The Liverpool captain later admitted to police he was “7/10” on a scale of drunkenness, but insisted he only lashed out in self-defence.
He was eventually acquitted, but not before he was forced to re-enact the scuffle to the court, leading to the priceless sight of a suited Stevie performing air punches in the dock.
The DJ, meanwhile, became Anfield’s public enemy number one, and spent the next six months with round the clock police protection.
Makes Tyrone Mings forgetting his flip flops in the shower seem quite trivial…
