We're hiring a Video Producer

Back in 2020, around the time Jack Grealish was staggering out of a lockdown sesh with one shoe on, The Upshot was born with a simple plan: to celebrate sport’s funniest stories.
Since then, we’ve made it our unhealthy obsession to report everything from Jens Lehmann’s crime spree to the simmering sexual tension in the French football team.
And we’ve attracted hundreds of thousands of fans who send us stories, pay to see our live shows, and ridicule our haircuts.
Now we’re hiring a Video Producer to join our team and build a massive audience.
The role
As a Video Producer, you’ll react to breaking stories by working with hosts Jack and Zach to produce quick, funny videos to entertain our fans.
You’ll take us from a growing podcast which publishes video clips on Instagram to a major media brand with a massive following across multiple platforms.
And by joining an ambitious, profitable media company early on, you’ll experience the intoxicating feeling of growing an audience and launching new projects.
Responsibilities:
Filming, editing and publishing videos of Jack and Zach talking about the funniest stories from the world of sport.
Improving production quality and SEO.
Driving growth on YouTube, Instagram and other platforms.
Find ways to turn video viewers into podcast fans.
This is a full-time role from 9am to 5pm at our office in Hammersmith/Kensington Olympia, London.
We occasionally work remotely.
Salary: £30,000 a year.
The ideal candidate is:
A sharp video editor who has a feel for storytelling, brevity and humour.
Aggressive about moving fast, publishing often and growing an audience.
Experienced with filming, lighting and production.
A sports fan with a good sense of humour.
